Joint Inversion Modeling to uncover underexplored conductive trends at the Hurricane Deposit
Located in the eastern Athabasca Basin, IsoEnergy’s Larocque East project hosts the Hurricane Deposit, the world’s highest-grade uranium resource. Despite its exceptional grade, the deposit’s small footprint and the abrupt nature of uranium mineralization present significant targeting challenges. To expand the resource and explore the broader Larocque Trend, CGI was engaged to apply advanced geophysical processing to existing datasets.
By performing a sophisticated joint inversion of historic electromagnetic (EM) and resistivity survey data, CGI generated a new geophysical model that transformed the understanding of the site's structural architecture. This work highlighted a previously underexplored 2,500m conductive trend located 800m north of the main Hurricane conductor. CGI’s technical insights provided the roadmap for IsoEnergy’s winter 2025 drilling campaign, which successfully intersected strongly elevated radioactivity in multiple step-out holes. These results validate the power of re-evaluating legacy data to unlock regional-scale discovery potential.
